The New Becoming Vegetarian

resource for anyone contemplating "going vegetarian" or vegan.
All the dietary issues are explored and addressed in an unbiased,
helpful way, so you can make good decisions and attain optimum
health through diet based decisions. I'm sure even seasoned
vegetarians will learn something from the many dozens of
tables and drawings that illuminate significant nutritional
issues. Along the way many myths are debunked, like that
it is hard for vegetarians to get enough iron or that animal
protein is superior to plant protein for human health.
Written by two expert dietitians, they cover all
the essentials to healthful vegetarianism and even give you enough recipes to
get you started. They also give advice on how to stay centered and loving in
the face of opposition from well intended and sometimes heavy handed meat eaters.

Vesanto
Melina, MS, RDD, is a coauthor of the American Dietetic Association's "Position
Paper on Vegetarian Nutrition," and of the Vegetarian section of the Manual
of Clinical Dietetics. She consults for individuals, government, and vegetarian
food companies and has taught nutrition at the University of British Columbia
and at Bastyr University in Seattle.
Brenda Davis, RD, is a nutrition consultant in private practice and the Vegan
Advocacy Director of the CARE campaign. She is a past chair of the Nutrition
Dietetic Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association.
Both Vesanto and Brenda are the coauthors of The
